Low to ground
Safe and sound
Sharing smiles all around
Their devotion
Abounds
As they glide
Side by side
Through the streets
In joyful ride.

“I will not celebrate with celery,”
She said, and then
She frowned,
For no celebrity that’s
Worth her salt
Will turn down green
When it is found.
“We can still have a
Celebration,”
She tried correcting course,
But the celestial already
Knew
She had no true
Remorse.

Are they starting?
Oh, hold on!
You most certainly
Belong.
They did not invite
Your kin,
But I’m tall —
I’ll lift you
In.
After all,
Without us there,
History won’t be going
Anywhere.

In the moments when your eyes
Meet
Under canopies of cloth
Or sun
Or stars,
And the world recedes to
Nothing but
Who the both of you
Are,
When your
Union
Seals with
Promise
Ringed with hopes and tender
Kiss,
May you both know
That you do
And that your love
Can nurture
Bliss.

Layer by layer
They go back
In time,
Descending through eras
They can carefully
Climb.
What whispers
What stories
Does the wadi
Impart?
Will their souls see
The footprints
These rocks know
By heart?

Fly by
The moon
And kiss a new star
Goodnight.
Fly by
The sun
And let its light touch
Your mind.
Fly by
In play
To draw a blue skies
Outlined.
Fly high
Today
And know I’m not far
Behind.

In the game of
Standing out from
The crowd,
There is little more distinct
Than the
Distinctly
Indistinct.

Which way does this road wind?
Where to goes the crack?
Do the rocks that line the path
Hold answers
Or hold back?

In a while
There will be all colors
Of the rainbow
And then some
More.
In a while
There will be radiant
Greens and sunny yellows
And all the different
Shades of
Purple
To show.
In a while
The monochrome of winter
Will make way for
Brightly colored
Spring
To make eyes and hearts
Glow.
