Route To Kaput

Olden times come to rise

Where the heartless devise

Righteousness to brutalize

Those they dehumanize.

An unwise move, time shows

For a smart person knows

That even one group maligned

Cracks open fault lines

In a stroke that would put

A reign on path to kaput.

Amortize

never again poland

Allow persons in power

To amortize the legitimacy of those

They term ‘others,’

And the weak will fall behind them,

Eager to believe themselves

More worthy

Than most.

They’d be wrong, of course, for

They are not.

Because none who are truly strong

And deserving of honor

Would ever devalue others

Nor would they sit back as

Inhumanity

Takes hold.

Effigial Critique

If it’s fame that you seek

Know how history speaks

Of tyranny’s recognition

Turning infamy

And

Effigial critique.

Skirl a Tune

Skirl a tune

Blow the pipes

Upon Highlands’

Tall banks.

Through deep lochs

And rocky lakes

May beauty keep

Your soul awake.

When you know how stress

Rewires

Little ones’ brains

To lifelong pain,

You mark yourself ever

Notorious

When you cruelly

Add

To their wounding

Day and again.

Vanquish Voracity

May the eager seek the good

More than they crave

The rush of

Harming.

May the powerful remember

How no honor lies

In deliberately

Alarming.

Let satiety be reached

Not by cruelty

But with love.

So that children can sleep safely

In the arms of those

They love.

May the scorch of

Arid hearts

And blazing sun,

Make way for kinder, saner

Passage

To lead humanity through

Balmy times.

Do Not Quail

hold on

Photo: Osnat Halperin-Barlev

When powerful

Pound podiums

With rabid lies

To sow mistrust,

Don’t falter

From the facts

Of what is wrong

And what is right.

Don’t quail before

Deep cruelty

That shreds your heart

To cries.

Step forth

For those who have no voice,

Be brave

And mobilize.

Got your boot

And the ptuk

Stole your truck,

It is time to call

A glonky

To clean up

This jabberwocky.

Not empty fame
