Keen Green

Hello there,

How are you, Ma’am?

I’ve missed a spot?

Oh well, oh damn.

There’s no perfection

On the lam

And I’ve really

Got to scram.

Have you seen some

Elves around?

I’ve been told to

Look for rainbows

At the end of

Traffic jams,

(And yes, I know the

Gold’s a scam

But I’ll still give it

An exam).

Vibrant Welcome

Welcome, guests, into

Our midst.

Join right in, you’ll

Get the gist.

We’ll dance you

Through our jungle greens,

‘Twixt crops in fields,

Across ravines.

We’ll sing and chant

And strike the ground,

With feet and poles

And hearts and sound.

Welcome, guests, into

Our midst.

Where mists among

The mountains

Roam,

And culture bursts

In vibrant

Song.

Dedicated to the amazing villages in Papua New Guinea, who came out in their young and old and in betweens, to dance heartwarming welcomes to my nephew and his friends who stayed as guests in their midst.

I See A Pattern

I see a pattern

In these stairs:

In carpets’ weave

In craft-men’s squares,

In how the landings

Spin and dip,

With railings poised

To let hands grip,

In void that carries

Gaze to floor,

And legs that wish

To climb no more.

When You Do

In the moments when your eyes

Meet

Under canopies of cloth

Or sun

Or stars,

And the world recedes to

Nothing but

Who the both of you

Are,

When your

Union

Seals with

Promise

Ringed with hopes and tender

Kiss,

May you both know

That you do

And that your love

Can nurture

Bliss.
