In Contrast

The days stretch on

In sun and shade,

Highlighting the contrast

To the lifespan of

A butterfly,

Its new wings splayed

In the warmth

To dry.

And I wonder

What the ancient rock thinks,

In contrast,

Of the human

Lifespan

Fleeting by.

Bank On Peace

If nothing else

You can bank

On some peace

Come day’s end.

On a breath

By the water

When a ripple

Extends.

On a sigh

Of the chest

Born of awe

Seeped with ease.

You can count

On some peace

Come day’s end.

Me, too, please.

A Journey’s Blessing

As you take the journey home,

May there be a light

To guide you.

As you take the journey home,

May all that’s necessary

Be with you.

As you take one step

After another,

May the energies

Sustain you.

And when you finally

Reach home,

May loving arms and hearts

Embrace you.

Snow Angel

An angel had been here

But it is here no more.

All it left is an imprint

Of what could be, before.

Will it come back

To see us?

Will it our wishes grant?

Deep in sparkling snow

I don’t know

If it will

If it can’t.
