May grow
To be
Bigger than you
Now know
To see.

What’s a view
To you?
Memories of times
Long gone
Askew?
The roads since traveled
But still
Due?
The sights you did not know
You will one day reclaim
Anew?
What is a view
To you?
This post is dedicated to memories of all childhoods and sunsets, times gentle and not, and to Frank’s beloved pooch, Ransom.

Harbingers of feast
Or famine
Inhabitants
Of all
But the Antarctic ice,
These carriers of fire
From the gods to land,
Teach city folk
And country dwellers
That one can make a home,
Find plenty,
All around.

There’s no place quite like it
And yet it’s more place than one
Where the surf breathes the ocean
Onto bare feet and sand.

In the spring soon to come
As the snow loses hold
The intrepid push up
Unafraid of the cold.
They poke heads
Lead the way
And in rush to full blush
Chase the winter away.

Hold on close
To the hope
Even if
It is a bit
Tired.
So no matter the noise
Distraction desires,
Hope remains warmed
In soul
Where truth never
Expires.

I would rather be joyful
I’d rather hold hope.
I’d rather find rainbows
(Won’t dismiss pots of gold).
I’d rather know light
In the dawn
In the dusk,
Feel the song of the earth
As it peals in my heart.

As you breathe in the early (too early, today)
Pinking dawn of a fresh
Brand new
Day
May it catch on the ledge of a dream
That had your soul
In its sway.

When life turns back onto itself
When flow seems stalled
Or slogs to mud
Hope still remains
A promise curled in gathered clouds
For though they hide the current sun
They still meander
Toward a future
Of fertile streams
To guard.

May we never stop to wonder.
May we never lose a dream.
May the image in our spirit
Find its way into our realm.
May the fairies that can flutter
In our younger, fresher soul,
Move forth awe and harvest marvel
To grow us closer to our whole.
