Reflections On Reflection

If you look into the pond, you’ll see

The sky reflected,

The white clouds,

The world drenched in the beauty

Of clear water

On firm ground.

But if you’ll turn your head

From pond-life

And look around

And up

Onto the land and sky,

You will see the real world

In its worry,

In its glory,

So much bigger,

Spinning by.

Peru Proud

There she stands,

Belongs,

Enlivened

By the land

That mountains birthed,

And the knowledge

Of the power

That she holds

Through Mother Earth.

Harp’s Heart

off to work amitaiasif (2)

Off they go

With the harp

And the sounds

In their hearts.

Off they go

To work hard

And music’s soul

To impart.

Do or Dye

Do not shy

From the dye,

Do not cringe

From the fringe.

What gives flowers the hue

Can teach color to you.

If two tones were the all

We’d be so bored we’d bawl.

So go on and dye more

Shades of lovely galore.

For The Tuesday Photo Challenge

Your Kind Of Exceptional

Peru weaver AmitaiAsif

Be your own kind of

Exceptional.

Not inherently better than others

Not more entitled

Yet still unequivocally

Uniquely

Equipped

To be the best that you can be

And do the most good you can do

As you.

On This Planet

Every day I am reminded

How very partial I am

To the multitudes of

Living things

Upon this Earth.

They are all part of me

Just as I am part of all.

You see,

Our air has been

A zillion times recycled

Through innumerable breaths.

Each drop of water has been

In every ocean

Swam in every river

Rained on every land.

Molecules have merged into our very selves

From all that is around us.

Life has birthed and died and birthed

Repeatedly

So many times

That we are indeed

Essentially

Not just of one planet

But all One.
