Behemoth

The sheer size of injustice

May derail many a

Courage,

But the sure footed will know

There’s much room to

Encourage,

For heft can usurp power

But does not need mean

Might,

When the small but the many

Can prove stronger in a

Fight.

Languid Lull

In the endless, languid days of summer

When hubris and humidity nixes

Facts and kindness

Into haze,

Lays the promise of a fall soon coming

Where saner, cooler heads

May well usher in

Better days.

Favorites

Listing favorites can take days,

Shuffled as they are in time and space,

But here are a few that my spirit

Will always embrace:

Beach and surf,

Little toes,

The peal of

Children’s laughter,

A good tale, a new book,

And loved ones

To look after.

Festinate Hope

May justice make haste

To reclaim what once graced

But has since been debased

By a swamp that laid waste

And all ethics replaced.

May the truth festinate

Removal of greed and hate

To restore facts misplaced

By those who greatness erased.

Make Gravity Weep

Upsidedown house SmadarHalperinEpshtein

Hold on to your hat

And the change in your pockets

They upended this house

From drawers to sockets.

You will see chairs on ceilings

Light fixtures on floors

Every room, nook, and cranny

Odder than one before.

Floating car in garage

Beds that won’t let you sleep

Basement’s legs in the sky

Will make gravity weep.

So come right on in

Come sideways and down

This whole silly house

Is a merry go clown.
