Languid Lull

In the endless, languid days of summer

When hubris and humidity nixes

Facts and kindness

Into haze,

Lays the promise of a fall soon coming

Where saner, cooler heads

May well usher in

Better days.

Merriam-Webster’s word for July 24, 2018:

Light stretches

On this day

To hold a hope

For those beset

By darkness.

May golden rays

Wrap hugs

Around the tears

At a world’s

Tipping point.
