The light climbs
Up the walls,
Its ancient pace
Never stalls,
Letting sun
Follow earth,
On a path
To rebirth.

Light stretches
On this day
To hold a hope
For those beset
By darkness.
May golden rays
Wrap hugs
Around the tears
At a world’s
Tipping point.

In the slight
Slender light
They remained
Holding tight
To the vestige of dusk
In the incoming night.

Once upon
A time
Long gone,
The sun rose
On the first morn,
To flaunt
Its warmth
From that time
On.

The little lamp
Refused to go.
Morning or no
It dug its toe
And held on glowing
In the snow.

Conjure hope
From odd bits
Of despair.
Recall the magic
Of compassion
Summoned from thin air.
Remember how small light
Brightens
Everywhere.

Funnel light
Into your heart.
Feed hope
Right
Through
The tightest
Narrows.

May the light
Spark the day
Glinting awe
On its way.
May the waves
Hug the sand
As your heart
Understands.
