Set The Sun

Set the sun

Gently behind the loops

Of the day.

Behind the curves and the slopes

That turned your world

Inside out

And your plans

Upside down

And away.

Spread your wings

And head home

To where nestlings

Await

And the feathers of evening

Welcome you

At the gate.

Line In The Water

Line in the water NaamaYehuda

Draw a line in the water

To hold a boundary

For speed,

Where the motors

Rush inward,

For horizon

To meet.

Float a line strung together

Of what floats

And won’t sink,

So you can

After sunset

Draw it home

And night

Concede.

Shimmer’s Glimmer

Shimmer NaamaYehuda

Evening gathers to call

Flocks to watering hole

And to glimmers of fish

In the sparkling bowl.

Palm to palm

Whispers calm,

As the pond

Drained but bright

Refracts sun’s glinting light

From silvery fins

‘Til a good night.

To The Seashore

I will go to the seashore

Where the waves touch the sky.

I will go to the seashore

To kiss the day fond goodbye.

I will go to the seashore

Where the boats come on home,

And the children still play,

And the sun’s last rays roam,

And my soul sings with the surf

Where it has always belonged.

Stretch above

To where the flapping

Propels you farther

On the breeze.

From there to see

The light retreating

Over Earth’s curve

At day’s reprieve.

Evening Leap

He still seeks to speak with fish

Before night claims their beloved beach

But she’d smiled enough goodbyes, to rise into her evening leap.

Evening comes.

Sun slides down

Child at play

Lapping light

Close at hand:

Summertime.

Blue Lass

Does she yet

In the tower

Await

For the draw

Of a knight

In the simmering

Light,

Or do blue

Evenings

Now pass

Inked by

No pining

Lass?
