Hold the potential
For plunging
Into pain
Or disruption:
Proceed with care.
Caution does not mean
Cowardice.
Bluster and bold moves do not denote
Good reason.
Determination often means
Holding on
To what railing is available
And bending down
To circumstance
So one may reach
Desired heights
Without the disservice
Of overzealous
Pride
To
Detriment.

Hewed from sky
Calved by glaciers
Raised by heaving earth
Aged by wind
Shorn by storms,
Awe is
Born.

The seeds of which
Hold promise
To what may truly be
Worth recreating

Protective,
You may find
Some thorny people
Can with kind acceptance
And a bit of patience
Come to share

Of birdsong

Sweet nothings to your soul.

Differentiate the urge
To disobey
For pure defiance’s sake,
From the value of resisting
Those who violate
Or lower what’s at stake.
Refuse the rush
Of righteousness
That rebellions can wake,
And replace it with the strength
Of discerning hate from kindness,
Truth from fake.
