It’ll Do

three line tales, week 137: an abandoned asylum

Never mind the mildew and dirt, the echoes in corridors of sad stories they knew.

There’ll be roof over heads and a shelter for those who lost all yet pulled through.

We will clean it all up. Make a home for these kids. It’ll do.

Fence Friends

Side by side

Nose to fence

They stand in awe

And suspense:

Here’s a duck

There’s a mouse.

Is the red thing

Their house?

What do animals

Eat?

Not small children?

Just treats?

From their safe

Vantage point

The zoo does not

Disappoint.

And they admire

The goose

Glad its not

On the loose.

May Apple

Not ripe in May

Not quite an apple

Mandrake grows best

In partial dapple.

No screams will sound

When it is pulled

Though tales will try

To have you fooled.

The fruit is fine

In moderation

But beware of higher

Concentration.

Medicinal

Though it may well be,

Won’t eat the seeds

If it were me.
