If you’ve a parcel
To post
Or a letter
To hurry,
There’s a zip line
Ahead
So please
Do not tarry …

Never mind the mildew and dirt, the echoes in corridors of sad stories they knew.
There’ll be roof over heads and a shelter for those who lost all yet pulled through.
We will clean it all up. Make a home for these kids. It’ll do.

Ancient stones
Tell a story
Of feet treading from
Light
To dark,
And the tunnel
Foreboding
As history
Left
Its mark.

Doors in corridors close
Even as others open
For the path no one sees
Goes around
Half again
In the climbing.

What grace allowed
Through ocean’s sigh
And earth’s old core
That plumed near by,
Embraces life
In all that die.

In the glory
Of nature
In the very
Pink
Of life,
Petals unfurl
In the garden
Full of
Blessing
To thrive.

Where the muse
Fills the senses
‘Afore first step
Indoors,
The gestalt
Inferences
To avow
Art’s in store.

Side by side
Nose to fence
They stand in awe
And suspense:
Here’s a duck
There’s a mouse.
Is the red thing
Their house?
What do animals
Eat?
Not small children?
Just treats?
From their safe
Vantage point
The zoo does not
Disappoint.
And they admire
The goose
Glad its not
On the loose.

In the shade
Out of sun
I am still
Having fun.
Even these
Stubborn bubbles
Will stop
Giving me troubles.
I’ll persist
And resume
Turning a chair
To a play room.

Not ripe in May
Not quite an apple
Mandrake grows best
In partial dapple.
No screams will sound
When it is pulled
Though tales will try
To have you fooled.
The fruit is fine
In moderation
But beware of higher
Concentration.
Medicinal
Though it may well be,
Won’t eat the seeds
If it were me.
