Is the center of city
Somewhat an unlikely space
To transport apparitions
That seem so out of place,
Or do they
Just like others
Feel at home on this Earth?

Like the breeze
Licking yarn
Like the trees
Upon sand
Like the dock
Seeking sun
Let the lines
Run right through
From the heart
To beyond.

Ah the copious talent
Mother Earth herself lent
To the hues and the flavors
In plenteous heft.

Awaken to what never should have
Taken place,
Yet had.
The millions
Whose lives were snuffed by calculated horror
Tattooed hate,
Enslavement, and
Smoky clouds.
Remember it,
Because such evil
Should not be allowed,
And yet there are the voices
Still denying.
There are those
Who would repeat,
Who relish violence and
Lament “not finishing the job.”
Awaken,
To what never should have
Taken place.
Yet had.

In the cold blur of morning
Atop a bare, frigid slope
Here’s to friendly warmth brewing
And a good view to scope.

Let mouth corners
Up and curl.
Let merriment
Gently unfurl.
That’s all
It takes
For smiles
To pearl.

What’s a view
To you?
Memories of times
Long gone
Askew?
The roads since traveled
But still
Due?
The sights you did not know
You will one day reclaim
Anew?
What is a view
To you?
This post is dedicated to memories of all childhoods and sunsets, times gentle and not, and to Frank’s beloved pooch, Ransom.

There’s no place quite like it
And yet it’s more place than one
Where the surf breathes the ocean
Onto bare feet and sand.

I would rather be joyful
I’d rather hold hope.
I’d rather find rainbows
(Won’t dismiss pots of gold).
I’d rather know light
In the dawn
In the dusk,
Feel the song of the earth
As it peals in my heart.
A place to improve my writing skills, and that's all.
