As the world tilts between breath
And release,
As the sea ebbs and flows
Into peace,
I remember my core
The heartbeat
Of my soul,
Batteries filled again
Making my spirit
Whole.

Tree by tree
It becomes.
Acorns
Saplings
Alder
Gum.
Branch by branch
Green and dun.
Creepers
Leaners
Holders on.
A woodland
Is more than its
Sum.

There are places that call
To your heart
And your soul
As the day fades to gold
And the surf sighs a lull.

Once upon
A time
Long gone,
The sun rose
On the first morn,
To flaunt
Its warmth
From that time
On.

In the lush-rush of life
In between breath and sigh
She pressed pause
To take note
What makes special
This time
And all moments
To come.

Like the breeze
Licking yarn
Like the trees
Upon sand
Like the dock
Seeking sun
Let the lines
Run right through
From the heart
To beyond.

If the world’s feverish frenzies
Get you all bothered
And frantically het up,
Take a breath
Form a pause
Find a foothold to grasp,
Nothing good ever came
From fluttering in a flap.

There is magic in finding
Some moments so slow
That life trickles along
In a lazy brook’s glow,
Like a pause in between
Busy ebb, bustling flow
A delicious respite
Into half-idle row
Caring naught though you know
If you come or you go
Inefficiently so.

Be a little foreign
To yourself.
Let corners of not-yet-seen
Within
Take a tour
Inside your mind.
Embrace
The unfamiliar parts of
You
Till they become
Another kind of
Home.
