“What does happiness mean,” she asked,
Her eyes round with the query
Of the lost
Awaiting to be
Found.
“It is the sun warming your skin,” he said,
His own eyes taking on the mist.
“And the unexpected sweetness
Of cherries on your
Tongue.”
For the dVerse quadrille challenge: Happiness
Beautiful. 🙂

Thank you! Sometimes happiness is about the small things … oftentimes, even, perhaps … 🙂

Thank you, Dale! In these times of turmoil, it helps to reconnect with the simplest things. Hot cocoa is on my list. Coming up in five minutes time … 😉 xxx

LOL… I’m unsure now. Might have to wait until tomorrow… if at all

No pressure. I’m planning on keeping those thumbs around for a while. They can twiddle anytime. 🙂

I hear you. I really really hear you.
We look under floorboard for some, and in corners, and on paths where huge leaves and golden leaves and light-on-water meet our eyes … But yeah, sometimes it is harder than other times. Sending a parcel of happiness, for whenever you need to open up a smile. xx

Yes. Sometimes we are blind to it, even when it’s right before our eyes; sometimes we seek for it in the most difficult places – I think it depends on just where we are emotionally.
Sending a parcel to you for your needs as well!

Yes … which is where friends come in. To remind us, to hold a light for us, to offer a hug and a cookie and a good talk. Xoxo

Yes, that’s it. A light always help. A hug and cookie are bonuses! xoxo

Lovely, Na’ama. it took me back to the summers when I lived in an orchard in the shade of a cherry tree.

Oh wow. I’d love that! We had a lot of fruit trees growing up, but not cherries. I adore cherries. 🙂

Absolutely beautiful. Almost mythical…I’m reminded of the writings in The Prophet by Kahil Gibran. Thank you so much for posting!

🙂 Thank you! It did make me crave cherries at a non-cherry season, though … 😉 Oh well, here come Golden Russet apples … (which I like almost as much).
