Rise to seek the freedom
In the air above the
Obstacle.
Find clearing that will give you
Path to pass
Beyond
The fence.
Learn the code that holds
The keys to better
Places.
Then you can let worries of
Shattered spaces
Lift,
And release the latch from fear
To what will let you
Step openly
Away.
For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Vault in 56 words
Besides the fact this here poem is wonderful, which it is (as per), I think you’ve made it a mission NOT to use the word IN your piece 😉

A little, eh? Oftentimes I do incorporate the word into the piece itself, but sometimes I do not, because I want to allude to it, rather than use it … which means … well, that it goes in the title. So it’s still there … 🙂 (Not to mention that I DO like coloring outside the lines … ;))

I know 😉 And I am completely teasing you, of course. You know that.

PS – also, I WAS going for more than one meaning of the word … so that was fun to do without tying the word into one meaning or another. And … yeah, there’s still the coloring outside the lines … 😉

PS – You did it more than well.

Na’ama Y’karah,
Brilliant job of defining the word in verse without actually using it. Love it.
Shalom,
Rochelle
PS I took a more pragmatic approach. https://rochellewisoff.com/2020/10/24/weekend-writing-prompt-vault/

Thank you! Yeah, I was having a bit of fun with my associations with the word, as those refused to settle on one avenue … 😉

Excellent stuff. But when isn’t it. You vault from pinnacle to pinnacle 🙂

Exactly! Or, you try to get through the valleys as fast as possible and away from the shadowy parts … 😉

I like it. Even the shape of it as it flows down the page is pleasing.
