I wouldn’t think it would be found in the UK (or the US, for that matter) – the photo was taken in Chiang Mai, Thailand … 🙂

That’s admirable already! 🙂 In highschool I had one at hand all the time because I was a biology major and we were expected to know all plants by sight or characteristics … It was a long time ago … but I still remember that fondly!

I had a wonderful field guide in my youth. Fully keyed. But… don’t know, it disappeared somewhere in my many moves. My current guide is nowhere near so good, although better illustrated.

I saw this marvelous butterfly in Thailand last summer and it was fluttering oddly, which caught my eye — that’s when I saw the torn wing, which did not stop this beauty from going about the business of butterflying. I had to take a photo!
It felt like a blessing.
