Locked

Locked up AdiRozenZvi2

Life without

Possibility

Of parole.

Robbed of

Freedom.

Wingspan clipped

To the lock

At the end of

A chain

Of events.

Imprisoned

Without fault

But the adversity

And sorrow

Of its birth.

    • Thank you … and indeed, yes, full of sadness. 😦
My niece took this photo when we were in Thailand last year. It is bad enough when wild animals — for all manner of tragedies and all-too-often man-made circumstances — aren’t able to live in nature as they’re meant to. It is a whole other level of tragedy when they are stolen from their mothers (often as infants) and spend their lives exploited, in chains.
It is also, alas, a window into human slavery and trafficking, which are still reality for millions of people worldwide, including in ‘developed countries.’

  1. Very sad. An image expresses more than any word … boundlessness, basic fracture, helplessness, despondency and painful acceptance. It evokes a lot of empathy and thought.

    • Thank you for the comment.
      Images are powerful, aren’t they?
I can’t help but be curious, given our shared last name (I’m sorry if it should be obvious … It’s a big family and all that, AND is of course not the only family of this name besides …) – Can you tell me a bit about yourself? Hebrew is fine, too.

    • Hmm … Where did you send it? A message through this blog? Through the “contact Na’ama Yehuda” page? I don’t think I’d seen anything new come through there. Hebrew should be fine either way but I am not sure where you sent the message … Do you mind letting me know more specifically?
