Make a River

Make this rivulet

Of hope

Into a river

Of change.

Let a movement

For kindness

And the trickle

Of sooth,

Become a wave

Blue and wide enough

To hold the full depths

Of what should have always been

Self-evident truths.

The Path Ahead

So many times the path ahead

Is shrouded in the mist

Of worry, fear

Of hopes and dreams

And all that we resist.

Though as we put one foot

Then next

And make the road our own,

We see the vague

Becomes defined

As steps our souls have

Known.

As the gavel rises

To speak justice

Let the rule of law

Preside,

So not even an executive

Who feels they own

The rights for pride,

Can by claims of faux and fury

Dismiss

What they would rather hide,

When truth well knows

By sheer behavior

Schemes and snide,

That he had far too often

Lied

And it is past time he be

Tried.

You, Authenticated

What makes you, the real you?

What holds truth to your being?

How do you separate

Masks and screens

From true seeing?

In the search to find you,

What peels off

What is freeing?

Do you take on the journey?

Would it matter yet still

To find out

Or accept

That you’re all of it

Whole,

And besides it some more

Guaranteeing?
