In between breath and sigh
She pressed pause
To take note
What makes special
This time
And all moments
To come.

In most wretched times
When wrongdoers invade
Do not yourself turn
Echo chamber for knaves.
For the blight
Of untruth
And the stain
Of disdain
Can quite easily infect
Those who would not
Take heed from similar
To abstain.

And especially
In times of turmoil,
To bestow
More light
Than woe.
It may be necessary
To bequeath
To awe
Over righteousness.
To confer,
With our own footsteps,
The high road
Not the low.

Of worry, fear
Of hopes and dreams
And all that we resist.
Though as we put one foot
Then next
And make the road our own,
We see the vague
Becomes defined
As steps our souls have
Known.

The rights for pride,
Can by claims of faux and fury
Dismiss
What they would rather hide,
When truth well knows
By sheer behavior
Schemes and snide,
That he had far too often
Lied
And it is past time he be
Tried.
