Reminds me when we moved, and my youngest then was 7 years old. It was her habit, before school in the morning, to walk around the garden and greet all the snails (we have a great collection of pretty snails). So the morning we moved, she went missing. Returned with a box which, at the last moment she tucked into the back of the removal van. Those men were not amused. 🙂

Speaking of children’s ‘essentials’, a friend of mine was moving and she found her kindergarten-aged son in the backyard after bed time. He’d gotten out of bed because he was trying to figure out “how to pack the grass.” 😉
