Ancient stone
Not disowned
By old time’s
Marching on.
Newer walls
Chaperone
To contain
Buddha’s throne,
And only the peak’s
Crumbling bones
Tell of years
Now long
Gone.

Love this one, Na’ama… Great shot, too!

Thanks, Dale! It was fascinating to see how instead of demolishing the ancient temple and building a new one, they had decided (hundreds of years ago) to build a new (well, newer… given that the ‘new’ temple is now centuries old, too…) temple around it and not hide the crumbling parts but, in a way, celebrate them. 🙂
