As chilly nights
Churn cold winds
And unclothed trees
Hold branches
In a yearn
To huddle near,
Cherish the fleeting
Flowing moments
Of memory’s chalices
Filling with cheer,
As a child
Chants a prayer
And gently lights
History’s challenge
To despair
Lack
And fear.
For the dVerse Quadrille Monday challenge: Cheer
Nothing beats a child’s cheer!

Thank you, Frank!
And what challenges the young will meet have a lot to do with the histories we’d leave for them to manage …

Thank you, Whimsy! ๐ I can’t help but think of the poor trees, shivering in their bare branches through the cold winter. Brrr … ๐ Na’ama

Thanks, Merill! ๐
More than one way to look at history … or its challenges … or the challenges TO history … And children will lead us all. Happy Holidays and thank you for the comment! Na’ama

A good time to reflect, a good time to look to the past and then ahead.
