Light Words
Around 1730, Leonhard Euler a Swiss mathematician came up with what is known as Euler’s equation eiπ + 1 = 0, which expresses a universal truth of mathematics, and it contains five of the most important numbers in maths: 0, 1, e, i, and π, along with the fundamental concepts of addition, multiplication, and exponentiation. The symbol e is used for the base of natural logarithms is approximately 2.72 and who else but Euler would ever think that raising the natural log to a power of the square root of negative one multiplied by Pi or approximately 3.1415 would ever equal negative one. What a genius!
