If there’s anything we can learn from the media’s flurry over Woody Allen’s family, choices, priorities, and consequences, let it be about the all too frequent realities of children’s unnecessary pain …
My letter to the Editor of the NYTimes, published today:
May no child be left bereft of knowing where to turn or have their needs frozen away, obscured by others’ closed minds or hearts.
My dear Naama
I am so proud of you! You write with such grace, wisdom, and fluidity. Your letter is wonderful and, of course, not surprising to me, talks about protecting the children. You are such a terrific advocate.
Bravo, bravo, bravo.
Much, much love, Adele
PS. Hope the trip to Israel is good on every level. This is the trip that you were taking something of Carol’s? I love that idea. I love your soulful self and wide-open heart.

Thanks, Adele! Hearts that are given such love are easily kept open…
I will be teaching by request in Israel — to the staff of a clinic that works with at-risk children — about the effect of trauma and overwhelm on children’s development and communication.
