“It won’t fit.”
Sandra looked up from kneading. Mollie’s face was red with exertion.
“What won’t?” she asked, resuming the stretch-fold-stretch-fold rhythm. Working dough relaxed her. The knowledge that each pull and press moved energy from her muscles into what would later feed them. The cycle of it.
“The laundry. Nothing fits.”
“That’s odd,” Sandra noted. “I washed linens in it just the other day.”
“But nothing fits!” Mollie’s voice shook. “Not a sock!”
Sandra paused. She forgot how easily her sister got flustered even by simple things.
“It’s a Space-Savor model,” she offered. “Have you tried shrinking the items first?”

Na’ama Y’karah,
Having baked bread many times, I related to the stretch and fold rhythm. Kneading dough can be so therapeutic. Now I’ve heard of space saving washing machines and I’m all for them. That one might have shrunk in the wash. 😉 Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle

🙂 Yeah, it’s a cutie, ain’t it? A toddler helped me measure, and we can apparently wash one newborn-size sock (which is currently a bear’s sock) at a time. At least until we find the shrinkage-manual. 😉

Simple, really, when the solution is pointed out

A cool idea to shrink the laundry first.

And then de-shrink it after the clothes are clean. Right?! I’d sign on!

How time saving it would be.

And space saving! Now, if one could only shrink the kids’ toys between plays so they not take up QUITE that much space … 😉

But the smaller one are more painful to step on.

Haha! A shrink to fit machine, I love it. Well done, Na’ama!

😀 Thanks, Mason! Now there’s the reverse spell to learn, too, of course, in order to return the clothing (and the linens!) to human size …

Indeed, they will fit the same without that!

Totally! 😉 It would be a tight squeeze otherwise …

Naughty, naughty Sandra, teasing her sister like that! I love the way you squeeze in a paragraph about breadmaking in a 100 word story!

🙂 Ah, but she ain’t teasing! It’s all the rage – you shrink the clothing, wash them in the mini-machine, then de-shrink them after the wash. It is very helpful in city life! (or at least, I think … ;))

A brilliant idea, although you’ll have to go on a strict diet if you ever want to wear them again!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, but then you de-shrink them as soon as they are dry! 😉 (Or, in case of especially small quarters, you can store them shrunk and only de-shrink before you wear. Works excellently for travel, too. Want a pocket suitcase?)

I thought the shrinking happened in the dryer.

Right. Shrink first, then wash. A workable concept. Great one and thanks for the prompt pic, Na’ama. 🙂

Thanks! And … I wish it did work in real life!!! I’d use this washer to do MY laundry! 😉

I bet shrunken laundry dries faster, too, and saves a lot of energy. I like it. I’m in, as long as I don’t have to shrink to fit.

LOL! If you shrink to fit you may be able to join The Borrowers! 🙂

OMG! My brother used to watch that movie all the time, but he called it The Burrowers. I didn’t know what the hell he was talking about. I thought it was about little people who dug and lived in tiny holes. 🤣

The BURROWERS! Now that’s a whole new concept! 😀 I can see the little sledgehammers digging headaches into the BIG people’s brains … or was that the strange buzzing sound one cannot quite locate? 😉

You went sinister with it. That doesn’t sound quite so family-friendly anymore.

LOL! Yeah, well, even little Burrowers aren’t all simple … we is all complicated … 😉

Why, oh why do these things not come with manuals?
This was lovely, Na’ama!

😀 I guess manuals are too … well … instructive .. 😉 Happy you liked it! Now, I just need to find that manual myself … 😉

Haha! And they require reading…
I would like the shrinking to happen to my body and stop going after my clothes!

um…. if you shrink too much you’ll need mountain climbing gear to get in and outta bed … (not even GOING into what will be involved with using the loo…) 😉

I love the meditation feeling of moving dough for bread. Great moods here… the frantic anxious sister and the calm chef. Love it.
