Get the kids. Get the bags. Pack the boot. Start the car.
And save that look for your Mother,
For having her jamborees so far.
Did you pee? Did you wash?
Are you sure the doors are locked?
Where’s your brother? Why right now?
Where does he think we’ll squeeze in his guitar?
No, you won’t.
Not you, too.
Don’t care if the harmonica will be something to do.
Off we go.
Off we are.
Right into bumper-to-bumper trucks.
We’ll never make it.
Best turn back.
For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt of: Jamboree in 86 words
Made me smile – reminded me of car trips years ago with my lot. (Minus harmonica!)

Well, ya, guitar is one thing, but a harmonica would send any family car trip over the deep edge! 😉 That’s why it was not allowed here, too. 😉 Glad it was fun!

Just the kind of thing I went through when my kids were young, now it’s their turn!

It’s a sturdy family ‘legacy’, it is … 😉

I recall that after driving 100 yards I asked, “why are we doing this?” But did it and we all, somehow, survived. 🙂 A very entertaining piece, Na’ama.

Ha! If it elicited memories of actual road-trips, then I feel satisfied in this piece. 🙂 It is part of the deal, though, isn’t it? And what can keep this going is the mantra: “memories, we are making memories…” 😉

I hope your happy with it because it did get me to thinking of many such memories. Not only is it part of the deal, the experience (with more than one child) seems similar for many. 🙂

Yay for many memories, and… yeah, it is part of the human experience, isn’t it? 🙂
