They said farewell.
They said goodnight.
They walked into dark
From light.
Their hearts were sad.
Their eyes were bright
With tears that grief will soon ignite.
Her passing’s new
Her suffering done.
They walked with her as
One cycle ended and a new began.
For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Goodnight in 45 words
Dedicated with love to my aunt, whose funeral is across an ocean and a sea tonight. May her memory be a blessing.
Sigh… beautifully done, my friend. Simply beautiful.

Thank you, Dale. It is a tender day here, as I am sure it is for many as they say goodbye to loved ones. xoxo (hot chocolate with frothy milk sure helps).

I’m so sorry about your aunt, Na’ama. She’s resting in peace now. No more suffering.

Thank you. Yes, she is, and the sorrow now left is only with those who miss her. She is at peace, and she was deeply loved by many. Blessings and thank you for the comforting words.

Oh, so nicely done, Na’ama. “Her suffering done” is well placed and meaningful, Words to go beyond words.

Thank you! Indeed, sometimes a passing holds a layer of comfort in it, in that one knows that at least the suffering of the departed has ceased. May we know little sorrow and much joy. Na’ama

Thank you, friend. It is the way of the world, and a natural part of life and death that we are born and we depart and we love and we grieve and we remember and live, hopefully in the best way we can. She was a good woman. It matters. Thank you, again! Na’ama
