She did not know how
To have her heart
Be known,
Other than to
Let her spirit
Be flush with
Hope,
And to allow her
Soul to
Blush bright
With the
Intent,
Even if
Her words paused,
Timid,
From the moment
She’d left
Home.

Shyness is a blessing and a curse and you’ve captured the feeling in your poem.

I’m so glad! I’m not particularly shy myself, but I think we all know some of the feeling, and I work with enough people who are painfully shy to recognize the agonizing push/pull of hope and difficulty. Shy people aren’t unsocial. If that came across, I’m glad. ๐

I like the thought of being flush with hope to let one’s heart be known.

I remember growing up a shy boy… but one day I simply forget to be scared.

This resonates with me…and sometimes it is not the shy one that cannot communicate, but the listener who misunderstands. I think she will find her way. ๐

A blossoming description of her growth.
I especially like these words,
“to allow her

Blush bright”
Beautiful.
