With slightly curled
Petals’ ends,
She is feeling
Her age.
And she smiles
At the buds,
That unfurl
A fresh edge.
Sun and wind
Kissed her leaves.
Rain had shared
Its own drink.
She is older
But happy,
To live in all
Shades of pink.

Yes! I find flowers that are ‘past their prime’ (whatever THAT means) to be absolutely more interesting than the almost uniform freshest ones. Even more appreciate flowers on the bush, than those cut in vases.
