The children in the video do an excellent job explaining the brain’s structure, function, and response to fear. They detail what fear reactions can look like in behavior, how fear affects processing, and why it is so important that we understand how behavior is, in essence, communication.

Isn’t it awesome!? So well done! I was very happy to come across it, and to share it! Much of my professional work has to do with working with children who face communication/language/learning challenges, as well as other life adversities. Sometimes very difficult ones that anyone would agree are traumatic. Sometimes very-difficult-for-the-child ones, even if they might not appear to be ‘traumatic’ on its face. Either way, stress is stress is stress, and frightened, overwhelmed children do not learn well. This was a very good way of explaining what goes on and why, and the kids did a marvelous way narrating it. 🙂
