Here, too (well, other than some stubborn trees that I’m certain had some elves Gorilla-glue their way-past-their-brown-wrinkly-prime leaves onto the branches, just to spite. 😉 ) — the photo is from a month or so ago … but I just had ta’.

Ya know… there are trees that don’t lose their leaves – it’s called marescence 😉 And more often than not, they are oak trees. (I was googling something else entirely and found this one, which I loved, so I incorporated this word instead of the one I never found!
And ya… ya had ta.

I know, I know … But, it sure LOOKS like elves stayed up late, in harnesses against the winds, and used Gorilla-Glue to make sure these leafos stay stuck on! 😉

And I giggle at the image of little elves (not on shelves, but dangling and swinging from harnesses, leaf to leaf, twig to twig, raining Gorilla glue on the unsuspecting …) 🙂

Thank you! The beautiful photo is by my supremely talented friend Karen Forte. The poem just tries to give them ‘voice’ …
