Photo prompt @ A. Noni Mouse
Her husband thought she loved to cook, which she did, but not exactly. He thought she liked the cleaning up after, which she did not, or not for the reasons he believed.
She didn’t correct him. It worked right fine for her that he would sigh contentedly after they had finished eating, and then transfer his happy belly to the den to read the paper or watch some TV.
Washing up gave her the perfect place.
Her neighbor, body glistening, exercising in the room he’d made into a gym, its window facing her sink.
She thought of it as dessert.

Isn’t that what one is meant to do with a view? π

Lol. I guess that’s her compensation for doing all the chores that she hate?

Perhaps, eh? I mean, nothing’s stopping her hubby from offering to do the dishes, right? π

Nice one, Na’ama.
Myself, while I don’t like the actual chore of washing up, do like the mindlessness. It’s often where I compose my posts. Alas, no hunks to watch out of my window. BooHoo

I hear ya. I actually don’t mind the washing up at all. There is a meditative sense to it, and it’s pretty immediate-gratification besides. Setting things to order, shining everything up. I don’t mind folding laundry, either. Or hanging it out to dry. Meditative for me. π No comment about the outside-the-window-extras … π

Moving meditations… the phrase I learned for them. Being in the moment

Yes! I do not do well in the ‘sitting meditations’ (too much discomfort, too much ‘noise’ in my head and body) but I love ‘walking meditations’ – and I enjoy the calm space of what you called ‘moving meditations’ – the focus on what is being done while simultaneously freeing the mind to roam where it might. Love it.

I too have a problem with the sitting variety… unless it’s TM, in which case, long years of use.

Na’ama Y’karah,
A woman’s gotta do what a woman’s gotta do. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. This wouldn’t have been your inspiration would it?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwkZ-1fi_H0 π

LOL!!!! Well, the ladies in that ad were just there for the soda pop, no? π I mean, that’s what the ad was FOR, no? π
And, yeah, washing up needs to be done, so … as long as her hubby isn’t volunteering, she might as well make the task as … um … enjoyable … as she can … π

the husband better shape up before he loses her. π

He may not lose her. I am not sending animosity between them, and perhaps they are accustomed to each other AND she finds the ‘view’ appealing. π

Well, the cleaning up needs to be done, and she can’t help it that this is the room the neighbor chose to make in to a gym … so, what’s she supposed to do … NOT look out of her own window … π

Well, donnow that I consider the washing up the ‘worst chore’ … but I suppose even rinsing cloth diapers (been there done that) could be made a little onerous if there’s nice view … π

It’s a trick to get her to the kitchen sink. Her husband has organised his friend to work out at the exact time.
