To Life

She strained

Against walls which

Heaved

About her.

She tensed limbs and

Tucked her

Chin

Fighting for a

Purchase

Around her.

And still the world

Convulsed.

Impossible in

Pressure.

Till sudden

Light.

A gasp of cold

As air

Rushed

Into lungs

To life her.

  1. I know I was there, but I recall none of it. Certainly, a long time ago in a city far away.
Now well into the second half of this short journey.
A wonderful poem, Na’ama. Well executed and delivered. 🙂
