“A pile of junk,” she had called it.
“My pile of junk,” Tim had responded, knowing then that if it came to choice, it would not be her he’d choose. And not because he cared for wheels and metal more than for flesh and blood. If Daria could not see why Poppa’s beloved Greenhorn was worth saving, she could not see worth where it sat.
Flesh and blood. Heart and soul. Memories and family.
His only. Family.
Daria found a man with a Jaguar.
Tim renovated Poppa’s car.
Found Miranda.
“A classic!” she exclaimed.
Flesh and heart. Worthy of Poppa’s car.

Oh man… this is wonderful. He was right, of course. Miranda understands.
If you have Amazon Prime, Season 2, episode one of Modern Love with Minnie Driver… Not quite the same thing but oh…

Thanks! Yes, Miranda understands! And, thanks for the recommendation of a show to watch, too! 🙂

She does.
The rest of the episodes are okay, but not exceptional. Season 1 was all good!

Season one… No, I can’t tell you. But season two was very different. I would say 3 out of 8 episodes were good. 3 were okay, two, meh 😉

I’ll heed the warning … 😀

Of course, that is only my opinion. But that first episode… sigh… I love Minnie Driver 🙂

I love the style you wrote this story in. Flesh and heart. Family. Miranda is much more suited for him and Poppa’s car. 🙂

Thanks, Brenda. If Daria does not care about what matters to him, then … yeah, it ain’t no good match for neither of them … Miranda sounds a lot more along his lines. 🙂

Na’ama Y’karah,
It took a couple of read throughs to realize the man with the Jaguar and “he” were two different people. Nonetheless a worth read and a worthy Miranda. Good one.

Oh yes, the emotional value of objects can only be measured by those who know the story. Well done, Na’ama.

Thanks, Bill! Sometimes the value is clearer, but there are those items that really are kind of … well … personal. 🙂

You’re welcome, Na’ama.
I like to read memoirs, partly because the author is the only person who can tell that story. 🙂

Probably best that Daria moved on – everyone happy in the end!

I agree. Sometimes it is just not a good fit. And both sides can find peace.

I like how he held tight to his values and found a better match because of it.

Just like Dale, this story also made me think of that episode of Modern Love with Minnie Driver. Great story, Na’ama

Oooooh! Now I REALLY have to watch that series and see what it is about! It reminds me of when I wrote Outlawed Hope, and a friend and reviewer told me that it reminder her of The Handmaid’s Tale, which I had not heard of till then. Funny how the world goes, eh? 🙂

I know! Love the interactive aspect of blogging, for otherwise, we are speaking to ourselves … Which is nice, but not as satisfying!
