“We believe in freedom,” they proclaimed,

“So of course you’re free to choose!”

Then they added

As her lips began to show

Relief,

“Just as long as what you choose

Is what we say you must

Believe.”

“For after all,” they stressed

When she blinked at

The paradox,

“We cannot have you

Infringing on our freedom,

When it is

Your body for us to be free

To make the choices

For.”

  1. Lawzy… Choice. Right.

And I’ve just been reminded that I could have written mine in another vein… I had a boss once tell me: Taking the initiative Is great. As long as you ask permission first.
    Nnnkay…

  2. Oh yes!
“…freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, don’t mean nothin’ hon’ if it ain’t free, no no
And, feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know, feelin’ good was good enough for me…” (JJ, Me and Bobby McGee)
