Very nice post! Do you remember what colors the bird was?

Thank you! I think it was a starling but I’m not sure. The sun was high (as the lighting in the photo reflects) – this is without a filter.

Oh ok. I was asking because I loving seeing the different colors of birds, such as peacocks and macaws. But have you ever wondered why things, such as clothes fade out, and birds colors always stay vibrant?

I think it is a fascinating question – like a lot of thins in nature. Flowers are vibrant. Till they wilt. Butterflies can be vibrant, too. Dragonflies. Fruit. Nature is stunning. π Birds (especially the male birds – the females tend to be a bit more drab), can be stunning indeed. π

Thank you for sharing your thought. Many things in nature donβt fade; while things we buy fade and we need to buy more. I found a video that talks about the colors of the bird. May I share it with you?

Yes, many man made things do fade. Some things in nature do, too, of course. And the way light reflects the spectrum does, too. Sometimes. Then there’s the reality of the nature of dyes, perhaps.
I love colorful birds – I think you can paste a link to the video in a comment. π

Interesting video. I believe this is true for colors on some flowers and insects and reptiles and in some quartz minerals as well as in birds’ feathers. As for evolution vs. design – I don’t find them mutually exclusive. Here’s to beauty in the universe.

Happy New Year. π
I think Octopi are absolutely fascinating. Not sure I’d get into the either/or of ‘evolved or designed’, for the way I see it, evolution is part of design and design can be part of evolution. π
Happy 2020 and I hope all’s well!

Thanks. Otters are great. Also, they almost went extinct because people liked their insulating fur so much they over-hunted them. There are similarly interesting facts about reindeer’s fur and polar bears’ fur and other ‘insulating solutions’ that different living beings in different areas and environments of the world have as part of adaptations for different extreme environments.

Science is amazing. Nature is beautiful and diverse (and yes, I think much of it evolved, though I do not see evolution as contrary to science or less magical or spiritual because of it). Medicine is great. The human mind and ingenuity are awesome. Have a lovely!

Hi Naβama! Wow, how things have changed since we have talked time! This pandemic has thrown everyone in a loop. This is crazy!
But it is not surprising to me. Why? Because Jesus prophesied that this would happen. The scripture is at Luke 21:11: βThere will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilencesβ. Prophecy like this were told over 2000 years ago. How accurate! But is this all we have to look forward to? What do you think?

There have been plagues and illnesses, wars and depravity, persecution and loss, all throughout history. Some caused by humans.
There have been all manner of plagues that were called by religious institutions as ‘predicted’ to be such by scripture or prophecy. There have been, through history, too many times of pestilence and hunger (these come hand in hand, almost invariably). There has been profiteering and war, and amplified suffering by humans who sought to benefit from the pain of others, too. And there have always been those who looked back to say things were predicted. In reality, nature itself has predictability in it: Volcano will erupt. Tsunamis will happen. Illness will happen. Rise and fall of crops will happen. Rain and drought will happen.
If it comforts someone to believe this was told in prophecy – it is fine for me if they believe it. It if comforts someone to believe that this was scientifically predicted – that it fine with me. If it comforts someone to believe it is a combination of faith and science – that is fine for me, too. What one finds as ‘accurate’ when it comes to belief, is often fed by their preconceived belief.
As long as they don’t force their belief on others and as long as they also follow science and facts and medicine to do what’s needed to protect others and help expedite healing, I’m fine with whatever each person believes. Take good care and stay well!
