I will go to the seashore
Where the waves touch the sky.
I will go to the seashore
To kiss the day fond goodbye.
I will go to the seashore
Where the boats come on home,
And the children still play,
And the sun’s last rays roam,
And my soul sings with the surf
Where it has always belonged.

Na’ama Y’karah,

Beautiful. This reads like an anthem.

Thank you, Suzanne! The seashore is always beautiful, and it brings the breath of the world with it. Anthem feels like a great descriptor of what to aim for …
🙂
THANKS!

You’re welcome. Your poem put in mind of the John Mansfield poem I loved as a child “I must go down to the sea again”. There is something about the sea that satisfies us on a soul level.

Yes! It’s our shared ancestral home, after all, the place from which we were all born.

I share your connection with the beach. I can’t imagine going a day without a visit come fine weather or foul.

Kindred beach souls, ah, Keith? 🙂
I can’t visit quite that frequently, but I visit when I can, as often as I can, and it is ALWAYS a battery-filler and soul-restorer for me, no matter the weather. 🙂

Thank you Ennle! I assume a good sigh … and yes … sometimes these deep breaths of ‘sigh’ are excellent for the soul … and I’m so glad … (I have an instant sigh-and-relax-response at the seashore…). 🙂 Na’ama
