Gary glanced at Gloria. Mom only used the expression when the you-know-what was about to hit the fan.
“I told you this was stupid,” Gloria hissed as they ran to the door. “It only made it look worse!”
Gary shot her a “shut-up-and-let-me-handle-it” look.
“Hi Mom,” he announced and swung the door open so that (hopefully) only the taped side was visible. “Do you like it? It’s a Christmas tree duct tape art. To remind you of the holidays!”

That photo, though … You can laugh or you can cry … so I gather … better laugh (BTW, that decorative/ceremonial blade – if it is a blade? — by the door is stunning!)

It is actually a seed pod from some tree in the Caribbean. When you shake it, it rattles. Our driver in Tortola gave it to us. Sweet, eh?

One must try … 😉 Thanks for the comment! 🙂 (I’ve heard all manner of things over the years–one child claimed they were “Decorating” when confronted over a mess of markers on the wall … another claimed (rather hopefully) that she was “maybe making snow” when she poured WAY too much of her momma’s bubble bath in the SINK and opened the tap full on … 😉 So, yeah, creative kids can be, when they KNOW they’re in a pinch … 😉 (also, a peek into their imagination…) 😉

Yeah, I don’t think that Christmas Tree is going to win any awards … though kids will try … 😉 As for exclamations … I’d say this one falls into the ‘gentler’ category … I’ve heard some that would make the screen blush … certainly not for the ears of kids … 😉
