Trestle Wrestle

“Stop it!”

Harry’s voice ricocheted off the cliffs. He could feel reverberations from his running traveling through the wooden trestles underneath his feet. Other thuds shook the bridge as well.

The figures didn’t even pause. Gordon swiped a leg under Thomas and the larger man went to the rails but grabbed hold of Gordon’s clothing. They rolled and the men would’ve tumbled off the tracks if it weren’t for Gordon’s belt catching on a spike.

Harry bent mid-stride to grab a stout stick.

It seemed he’d have to knock the two unconscious to stop them from killing each other.

  1. Hopefully for Harry they won’t turn around, take a break from each other and swing at him instead. Here’s hoping he has good aim with that stick!

    • I wish I knew! Though it does seem like Harry isn’t surprised that they are … (What do people fight over? Pride, greed, shame, misunderstanding, immaturity, hate?)
Thanks for the comment and the question! πŸ™‚

    • LOL! I remember when my eldest sister had two boys and they tussled on the carpet like puppies … She looked at them in consternation (we’re all girls, so this was a novelty…) as her husband — who has a brother — shrugged that: “That’s what boys do, and if they get too rowdy we can always pour cold water over them…” πŸ˜‰ Thankfully, they didn’t quite have to resort to that … πŸ™‚
