That creaking bamboo at the end would make me want to stay far from the edge.

LOL! Yeah, I hear ya. It was a tad disconcerting but after you see ten stories high scaffolding of rickety bamboo holding up workers and supplies you get a better appreciation for the strength of this particular plant … Bamboo truly is amazing. Almost everything along the jungle path was built from it – bridges, hand holds, railings, decks, fences, foot holds. Replacement materials grow right at hand …

Yes, the water WAS very clean (can’t say there wouldn’t be parasites or some such in it–the water in Thailand isn’t safe to drink untreated, though perhaps it is in the mountain jungles–we didn’t try … — but it WAS very clean as far as being free from pollutants, and gushing down the mountain in awesome cascades. 🙂

I agree with the others who commented the noise, we feel the roar of the waters, good use of onomatopoeia with rushed and burbling, and the use of deafening and thunder draw the ear further in, well done!
